Papa Louie 3: When Sundaes Attack! is the third Papa Louie platformer game. Yui, the winner of Kingsley's Customerpalooza 2014, makes her first appearance as a playable character in the game. The game was first teased on September 15, 2014, before an official announcement on November 4, 2014. It was officially released on March 4, 2015.

Description[]

Papa Louie 3 is the third installment of this wildly popular platformer series. This time, you will be exploring the Land of Munchmore's sweeter side. Just don't let the candy fool you, it's dangerous out there! It's up to Captain Cori to rescue Papa Louie and the rest of the customers from Radley Madish, Luau LePunch, and an endless army of slimy Sundaesauruses!

Over two dozen food fanatics embarked on a cruise aboard the S.S. Louie to celebrate the long-awaited unveiling of Seaside Freezeria. The celebration turns sour as Radley Madish and his new muscle, Luau LePunch, command the ship.

Using the Warp Coins, Radley and company unleash a powerful portal to pull Papa Louie and the rest of the customers back to the Land of Munchmore. There, they are caged and held captive by Radley's growing army of Sundaesauruses -- an army that our captive chefs are unwillingly forced to create under the harsh direction of Radley himself.

Meanwhile, the lone Captain Cori must trek her way through Muchmore's wild terrain, battle fierce food baddies, and rescue her captive passengers and crew. As the customers are rescued, they join the fight as playable characters; each with their own unique weapon and skills.

Captain Cori honks the horn of the S.S. Louie as the customers on Calypso Island board the ship. Papa Louie, Captain Cori, Alberto, Penny, and Timm appear to be talking animatedly. Captain Cori then closes the ship's doors and discusses preparations for the Seaside Freezeria with Alberto and Penny.

As she drives the ship away, Big Pauly is still on the dock, realizing he has missed the ship. Timm appears to be excited while Lisa and Scooter look down at the water. Timm is then see in his room preparing his outfit when he hears a knock on the door. It is Papa Louie, who hands him a flier about the Seaside Freezeria grand opening celebration.

Later that night, Captain Cori is announcing the Seaside Freezeria. Papa Louie pulls on a rope to open the curtain, and the customers, including Scooter, Timm, and Kingsley, are met with a shock.

Radley Madish, Luau LePunch, and a SundaeSaurus are behind the curtain, having kidnapped Penny and Alberto. Radley is standing next to a portal and a Warp Coin laughing evilly. All of the customers are sucked into the portal including Timm and Papa Louie. Captain Cori tries to hold on to a flagpole to avoid being pulled in, but it snaps and she too is sucked into the portal, still holding the flagpole.

Swim Boost: Characters who utilize this skill can swim through strong currents into hidden areas, or defeat underwater baddies. It is utilized by Utah, Gremmie, and Nick.
Wall Climbing: Characters who utilize this skill can climb up straight parts on walls, as if a ladder was present. It is utilized by Robby, Johnny, Radlynn, and Penny.
Gliding: Characters who utilize this skill can glide through the air. It is utilized by Foodini, Papa Louie, Trishna, and Professor Fitz.
Dashing: Characters who utilize this skill can dash through cracker blocks and enemies. It is utilized by Akari, Lisa, Pinch Hitwell, and Alberto.
Ground Pound: Characters who utilize this skill can ground pound, breaking cracker blocks that block certain areas. It can also be used to defeat baddies; however, Ground Pounding certain baddies can result in the player losing a heart. It is utilized by Vicky, Kahuna, Kingsley, and Xolo.
Double Jump: Characters who utilize this skill can jump twice, thus reaching greater heights. It is utilized by Timm, Ivy, and Scooter.

Obstacles[]

Balloons

Balloons are floating platforms that the player can stand on. There are five types of balloons, and each one has a different movement pattern.

Quicksand

Chocolate Chip Quicksand appears in Level 8, while the X Zone has Flavor X quicksand.

Unlike Papa Louie 2's BBQ Quicksand, the player cannot drown in it because the ground is buried under this quagmire. Players will need to jump as much as possible to get out. Baddies will immediately drown upon contact.

Ice Cannons

Ice Cannons appear in Levels 6, 9, and the X Zone. They shoot ice that will freeze the character upon contact. If hit, players must make their character jump 3 times to escape. Each cannon has a lavender-white gem that alerts the cannon where the character is (to the left or right of the cannon). They are usually located near baddies so the baddies attack the character while he/she is frozen.

Trivia[]

Some Baddies not listed on the Baddies page in the game include the Jellyback, Jellyblurp, Laddish, and Truffle Bomb.
The Neapolitown locals that appear in the game are Rocky Road, Mr. Sherbet, Betty Pecan, Jill Berry, and Chip McMint.
Many of the baddies players encounter in this game are counterparts to the ones in the previous two Papa Louie platformer games.
Almost all of the baddies found underwater can be defeated by a character that has the Swim Boost skill, with the exception of Cherry Mines, which will explode on impact and inflict damage to the character.
Characters with the Dashing skill will have an angry eye while ducking, while others just cover.
The Crawling, Wall Jump, and Pushing abilities from Papa Louie 2: When Burgers Attack! are replaced with the Dashing, Swim Boost, and Wall Climbing abilities.
As a tribute to the lone Cheese Wheel in Papa Louie: When Pizzas Attack!, a lone Cheesecake Wheel, the only one of its kind, appears in Wintergreen Way.
Characters who Double Jump have a special pose in the air: Timm performs a dance move, Ivy raises her hands up in the air, and Scooter rides on her skateboard.
Scooter can slide significantly longer (in distance) than other customers. (most likely due to her skateboard, possibly a bonus feature)
The Swim Boost, Dashing, and Ground Pound skills are the only skills that can kill enemies without use of a character's weapon.
The Swim Boost is needed to complete at least one mission in every level, with the exception of Level 9, where the only mission is to rescue Alberto/Penny, and Level X, which has no missions.
Akari, Kahuna, and Scooter have a special pose while sliding like in the game's prequel: Akari rides on her Bananazooka, Kahuna rides on his surfboard, and Scooter rides on her skateboard.
Like its prequel, a total of 5,880 coins are required to purchase all 56 alternate customer outfits in the game.
Ninjoy is the only Papa's Freezeria debutant to not appear in this game.
