In Papa's Cupcakeria, Sourballs are a holiday-exclusive shaker available during OnionFest. They are unlocked with Rico when the player reaches Rank 22.

In Papa's Cupcakeria To Go!/HD, Sourballs are a standard shaker unlocked with Sarge Fan (Cupcakeria To Go!) or Rico (Cupcakeria HD) when the player reaches Rank 2. The "Sour Candies" badge is earned when the player serves 30 cupcakes with Sourballs.

In Papa's Scooperia/HD, Sourballs are a holiday-exclusive mixable/shaker available during OnionFest. They are unlocked on Day 2 of the holiday.
