Quests are tasks given to the player from NPCs. They were a single-player element that appeared in Remnants of Skystone. They first became available in the beta release of the game.

Daily Quests

While most quests could only be completed once, Daily Quests were given on a daily basis, and could be completed multiple times (i.e. a player could do a certain quest, then come back the next day and do it again).

Some Daily Quests were simply the same task given every day, while others would ask the player to do something slightly different day-by-day. The tasks changed in a cyclical manner. These Daily Quests would always have the same quest ID, but their names and objectives would change.

Introductions (AS0001)

  • Location: Nidaria/Main Dock
  • Prerequisites: MD0101 completed
  • Objectives:
    • Deliver letters to all 14 Nidarians (14/14)
  • Text: You’re new to Nidaria, and I think it would be a good idea to meet the important people around town who may help you on your missions. The Rooks have prepared a notice concerning the newest recruits, and I’d like you to deliver these in person to the townsfolk and make your introductions.
Here are the letters concerning recruits, and you’ll find all of the recipients around Nidaria. Everyone is spread about on different decks, so you’ll need to use the ladders, poles and chain lifts around town to get to everyone. Let me know when you’ve finished your introductions, recruit.
  • Reward: Nidaria: Main Dock Sprocket
  • NPC responses:
    • Deployment Officer: Hello [player's name]. I’ve already got plenty of those, but Rook Maxwell will need one down in the boiler. Head down the lift just to the left of Mission Deployment, you’ll find him gazing out across the land as usual.
    • Captain Meelie: Hey there [player's name], what’s this? Oh, it’s the Nidarian Army’s notices about recruits. I honestly don’t know why they send these to me, of course I know all the recruits already! Thanks for the delivery anyway. You know where to find me when you need to head back to the ground!
    • Cecilia: Hey ya, [player's name] is it? Thanks for this recruit notice. My name’s Cecilia, and I’m something of the resident cook here in Nidaria. I like to rotate my menu, so every day I’ll have some new things I can cook up. I’m usually low on ingredients though, so you’ll have to find me some foods and spices elsewhere for me to use. It’s worth it though, one taste and you’ll be hooked! Hope to see ya around!
    • Gerard: Good day to you, [player's name]. Here about this recruit notice, I see. While you’re here, would you care to hear about my services? Food rations are fine and dandy for keeping you in good health, but when you need a real pick-me-up, I can brew you some Fizzes that pack a mighty punch. When you’re in need, I’ll just need a bunch of foraged or grown foods, and some Empty Bottles for the Brewing. Thanks for stopping in, [player's name]. See you around Nidaria!
    • Otto von Tesla: Welcome, my good [player's class]! [Player's name], you say? I’m Otto von Tesla, and I’m in charge of the Victory Labs where I conduct my research on Ether and Etherillium. Thank you for the delivery, [player's name]. If you’re not already aware, Ether is the grand material that counteracts the Haze that has spread across the land. It’s also used to keep this town afloat, and can have restorative effects on humans. It’s quite useful! We generate Ether with Etherillium Tubes, which you should have seen in Steamport City already. If you have a Spectra Circuit, Ether Tubes in your inventory can give yourself a little boost in strength or liveliness as well. If your personal Ether Tube supply runs out, or if you want to get some more powerful Tubes, I can help you craft them here in the Victory Labs! You can use a combination of found Etherite and Ores to craft some, or Brass will also cover the cost of materials. Hope to see you again soon, [player's name]!
    • Cypress: Hello there! [Player's name], nice to meet you. I’m Cypress, head of Mimicology here in Nidaria. Thanks for this delivery. We of course need to exterminate the Mimics that have spread across the land, but we also need to study them! That’s where I come in. The more we know about these creatures, the better equipped we’ll be when reclaiming the ground. If you’re interested, maybe you could help me in my studies in the future as well. Thanks again for the delivery, [player's name]. See you around!
    • Sycamore: Hmm, what’s this? Oh, the latest recruit notice. Thanks, [player's name] is it? Well this is the Housing Department, where I can arrange for changes to your float. If you haven’t already been to your Float yet, the Rooks should have marked it on you map with a big “My Float” notation. Once you head to your Float you can pick a floor layout and a Cluster you want to join, and if you change your mind I can help you move to a different Cluster if you stop by. We’ve also got “Float of the Week contests, where you can vote on others’ Floats when you travel to different Clusters and Floats. If you’ve got a lot of Furniture though, you may want additional stories for your single-story Float, which I can arrange for you. If you’re interested in moving or additional floors, just let me know, I’m always here…
    • Emma: Hey there! You must be new in Nidaria. I’m Emma, and I’ve got a bunch of exclusive wares that can be bought with Brass. I only deal with Nidarian Guard members, so I can’t help ya if you’re not with the Guard. You’re welcome to browse through my wares whenever you like though! See ya around!
    • Wystan: Hey there, [player's name] you say? Welcome to the Furniture Outlet, where I can make ya some furniture and things for your Float. If you don’t know much about your Float, I’d check in with that brambly fellow Sycamore up in the Housing Department. One of the Rook’s notices about recruits, huh? Thanks for the delivery I suppose. More importantly, if you feel like your Float is looking bland and boring, come on over to my shop for something new.
    • Lana Westwood: Howdy, [player's name]! Ain’t seen you around before, you must be one of these new recruits in this notice. If you haven’t heard of me already, I’m Lana Westwood, and I design only the best clothing that Nidaria has to offer. You probably didn’t have a great selection of clothing when you left your place on the ground, did ya? Well I’m here to help! I’ve got tons of shirts and pants and whatever else you like right here at the store… probably even have some other clothing like you’re wearing in different colors! You don’t wanna go wanderin’ around in the same outfit everyone else is wearing, do ya? You gotta be yourself, and pick out somethin’ unique! When you’re ready, stop on back here to shop.
    • Rusty: Hullo there, [player's class], came to have a chat with ol’ Rusty? I’ve got a trunk full of wares that would surely spruce up yer Float, if ya care to take a look. Just here about this recruit notice? While I’ve got ya here, let me tell ya about my services. I’ve traveled far and wide, from Gritcap Mountain to Grindwell Gorge, to rustle up the finest wares this side of the Blueridge. A’ course, I only deal with members of that Nidarian Guard, and only accept Brass for my wares, see. You join up with the Guard and have a need for some goods, you come give me a holler.
    • Madame Bristlecone: Why hello, young [player's class]. Ahh yes, one of the good Admiral’s notices about the new fellows joining us. Thank you, [name] is it? While you’re here, I should mention that I have many Foods and drinks to restore your well-being. You should already have some rations from joining us, but you’ll soon need more to stay in good health. Please stop by my shop when you need to replenish yourself, and may the Great Ferron smile down upon your journeys.
    • Lieutenant Driscoll: Hey there, recruit! [player's name], is it? Nice to meet ya! I’m Lieutenant Driscoll, and I’m in charge of cooperative Trailblazing missions for recruits here in Nidaria. Got one of the latest notices I see. I’ll hang this up on the board inside, good to keep track of who’s coming and going around here. Now that you’re here, I should fill you in these Trailblazing missions I mentioned. You can team up with a partner, either wandering around town or Floats, or by letting me do some match-making for ya here. Once you’ve got a partner, I’ll send ya down to some trails on the outskirts of the hazelands. Take care of the Fungi spreading through the area, and I’ll rank you on how well you do! If you ever want to do some Trailblazing, come talk to me. Or find a friendly recruit around town and ask to team up!
    • Rook Maxwell: Hello there, recruit. [Player's name], you say? I’m Rook Maxwell, stationed on sentry duty down here in the Boiler. Thanks for this delivery. There’s not a lot going on down here, but I may as well fill you in. Those large Etherillium Tubes generate Ether, which gets pumped up into the Bell above the city, the giant balloon if you like. It keeps the whole town afloat, so it’s pretty important! You’ve got something similar on your own Float actually. What do you think of the view from down here? It’s mostly Haze down below, but you can occasionally see some mountain-tops out in the distance. That’s what intrigues me most about the view, wondering if anything is surviving up on those mountain peaks. Oh, I shouldn’t keep you from your duties. Take care!
    • Aspen: Hello there, [player's class]. Thank you for this notice. My name is Aspen, a merchant who had traveled across the Hatchwood Wilds and has arrived in this city of the sky. I have many items in stock that are popular amongst the Ferrics, which may interest you as well. However, my stock is limited, so I only trade with members of the Nidarian Guard. I would talk with the Admiral to learn more about the Guard. Fare well on your travels, [player's name].

You had better pace yourself: Just work on defeating all 100 each day, and keep coming back for three days to do it again. If we luck out, after three days that should drive them away for awhile.

Enraged Mimic Extermination Quests that take place in Ridgeback Highlands:

  • Text of Enraged Clampbrights (AS0083): I know this sounds strange, but our Rooks on the ground are reporting an infestation of enraged Clampbrights throughout the Ridgeback Highlands. I'm glad I have a friend like you around. Those notes are very important, I need them to study for one of my midterm exams. I scraped up the notebook cover, but all 15 pages are missing. If you could find those pages, it would mean the world to me.

    • Return to Beatrix

  • Text: We've made an impressive find down here. Bandero Grit stopped in with these two stone-like objects that he found in the Mines, and they seem to be underdeveloped Shocksprite Eggs like you saw when you first went into the Mines! We know nearly nothing about the Mimics' life cycle, and this is the first clue we've had about their reproduction.
Grit stopped in again earlier and mentioned there were more of these eggs scattered through the Mines, and I was hoping you could go find a bunch more for us to study.
There's one thing I forgot to mention -- along with the eggs, there's also been a larger amount of Shocksprites found near the eggs. You'll have to be careful, but at least you'll have a rough idea where the eggs are. See if you can collect about 15 more, and bring them back here when you're done

Right before the time of Harvest, however, our crop of pumpkins was raided by a group of Bulkskins and Pugcrawlers.

    • Trailblaze with 5 different Crags.
  • Text: I used to be known for my rowdy times on Trailblazing Missions, [player's name]. Them Rooks, they're so used to partnering with other Aeronauts, that throwing a Crag into the mix really made things interesting. That look on their faces when they're jetting along and I swing right past 'em, priceless! Well, technically speakin' ya can't see their faces behind them masks, but you get what I mean.
Anyhow, how's about finding some other Crags for some Trailblazing, to get a taste of what it was like when ol' Cody was out and about? It'd also do them Crags some good to get out there with their brethren.
Now go find yerself 5 different Crags, check about in Nidaria or just talk to ol' Driscoll. Though you know him, he's liable to get too enthusiastic and partner ya with a Ferric or Aeronaut instead.. but might be worth a try if it's slim-pickin's in town!

You won't find the Riverfang in its original location, so head down the Blueridge River and find its new nest. When you manage to defeat the creature, report back to me.
  • Reward: Boss Mimics: Riverfang Sprocket, 100 Spores, 3 Corned Beef Rations

I have Wystan forging a Sprocket Shell Die for the Machine Press. First you will need to make 5 Bronze Rolls. Using both the Blast Furnace and the Rolling Mill. Then you will need to grab the custom Machine Die from Wystan. Take the Die to the Machine Press in the Factory and go to town. Each Roll should be large enough to press out 3 Sprocket Shells at a time.
Then just return the Machine Die to Wystan, and bring me those 15 Sprocket Shells. Pretty easy, right?

Firegrub Study (CY0004)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: 1 Firegrub killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Firegrub Heads (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: To learn more about these Firegrubs, I should examine them as much as possible, but it's pretty difficult to capture a Mimic without it attacking or combusting. It sounds a bit gruesome, but if you could hunt some Firegrubs and bring me any remains that it leaves, that would do for now.
If I had to guess, I'd say the head is the most likely part of a Firegrub to remain behind after combusting. If you could bring me 30 of these, it would help my research a great deal.
  • After completion: [Player's name], I've made a discovery! After studying these Firegrub heads, it looks like their bodies secrete some kind of flame-retardant jelly which keeps their hides safe while aflame. Very strange! I'm sure Chief MacGregor will be interested in the properties of this jelly. Thanks for helping the Mimicology Department, [player's name]. Take this new sprocket. I think I managed a decent likeness of the Firegrub with my illustration.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Firegrub Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Grabrat Study (CY0005)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0004 completed, 1 Grabrat killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Grabrat Ears (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'd like to study one of the Mimics from Steamport City next, and something that more closely resembles a native creature. Grabrats seem to be physically similar to common rats, even though their behavior is completely different, and they're obviously a lot bigger. I could use any remains that are left by combusting Grabrats for my research.
I would think the ears are the most likely part of a Grabrat to remain behind after combusting. If you could bring me 25 of these, I could see how similar they are to common rat anatomy.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Grabrat Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Snapshell Study (CY0006)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0005 completed, 1 Snapshell killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Snapshell Plates (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Some Mimics have found a way to protect themselves from us, including those armored Snapshells in the Hatchwood Wilds. When they retract into their shells, it seems nothing can damage them. I could use any remains that are left by combusting Snapshells for my research.
It seems that plates from their shells are the most likely part of a Snapshell to remain behind after combusting, which is perfect for my research. If you could bring me 25 of these, it would help a great deal.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Snapshell Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Wallglider Study (CY0007)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0006 completed, 1 Wallglider killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 35 Wallglider Beaks (35/35)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: There are Mimics like Stiltskins which are hard to classify, but there are others that clearly seem to resemble one of our ancient native animals. There are also Mimics that seem to be strange cross-breeds, which aren't quite like another. The Wallglider comes to mind as one of these hybrids, somewhat like an ancient owl and somewhat like a bat.
I'd think the beak is the most likely part of a Wallglider to remain behind after combusting. If you could bring me 35 of these, it would help a great deal.
  • After completion: These beaks really do seem similar to that of a bird, while it has the wings of a bat. Why on Etherea wouldn't the mimic just resemble a bat, what's the need for also being like an owl?
And why do they resemble our ancient native animals in the first place? We still have so many questions... It just doesn't make any sense why these creatures look like they do.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Wallglider Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Slugrat Study (CY0008)

    • Collect 40 Slugrat Fringes (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: The Slugrat is a peculiar Mimic, which seems to have replaced the perfectly good legs of a rat with a slug-like fringe to crawl on walls. I'm surprised that the fringe has enough suction to hold the Slugrat on ceilings and walls, since they're much larger than slugs. Needless to say, I'd like to learn more about them.
Luckily enough, the slug-like fringe is the most likely part of a Slugrat to remain behind after combusting. If you could bring me 40 of these, it would help a great deal.
  • After completion: It looks like these strange foot fringes are coated in slime, which it leaves on walls and ceilings to help it grip the surface better. It's extremely sticky, I had to throw away the gloves I was wearing while studying the specimens since it wouldn't come off. Those sewers in Steamport City must be a real mess from these creatures.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Slugrat Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Hellhopper Study (CY0009)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0008 completed, 1 Hellhopper killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Hellhopper Bones (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Besides the Firegrubs, I hear there are also burning Mimics that resemble Snakehoppers in the Charred Forest. Those creatures hadn't been in Hatchwood Wilds before the wildfire had spread. I wonder if the creatures quickly adapted to the fire spreading through the forest?
The Rooks in the area started calling the creatures Hellhoppers -- they sure do have a way of naming things. I'd like to learn more about these new Mimics, and I could use some help finding some specimens.
If I had to guess, I'd say the bones of their legs are the most likely part of a Hellhopper to remain behind after combusting. If you could bring me 30 of these, it would help my research a great deal.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Hellhopper Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Rockethog Study (CY0010)

  • Location: Hatchwood Wilds
  • Prerequisites: CY0008 completed, 1 Rockethog killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Rockethog Snouts (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear you've encountered these ladybug-like Rockethogs out in the hazelands while Trailblazing. For some reason, a few of those creatures have ventured out of the hazelands and into the Hatchwood Wilds. I'd love to study them while we have the chance. If I had to guess, I'd say the snouts of their legs are the most likely part of a Rockethog to remain behind after combusting. If you could bring me 25 of these, it would help my research a great deal.
And remember, look for the Rockethogs in the Hatchwood Wilds. They're too hardy out in the hazelands, and won't drop anything while you're Trailblazing! Only the ones in Hatchwood Wilds will drop remains.
  • Reward: Rare Mimics: Rockethog Sprocket, 30 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Pustosser Study (CY0011)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0009 completed, 1 Pustosser killed
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 40 Pustosser Tumors for Cypress (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: We know that fungus produces the Haze that plagues us, but some Mimics also seem to use a form of Haze when attacking us. Are the Mimics capable producing it, or do they harness the fungus somehow to produce it?
One of the oddest creatures is the Pustosser, which grows tumors on its body filled with Haze, which are then torn off and thrown at us- but you of course know that. I'd like to get some samples of these tumors to study them and figure out how their bodies could be growing these things.
When a Pustosser combusts, it usually tosses off a few tumors, but occasionally one will land on the ground without breaking. If you could bring me 40 of these Pustosser tumors, it would help my research a great deal.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Pustosser Sprocket, 30 XP

    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Catlicks are a strange type of Mimic. They seem capable of moving around if they wanted, though they normally find a perch and lash out with their barbed tongues when they spot a threat. I'd like to learn more about why the tongue is so effective for attacking its prey.
In some cases, the tongue is left behind when a Catlick combusts. If you could collect 35 of these and bring them back to study, it would help out a great deal.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Catlick Sprocket, 30 XP

Swampfoot Study (CY0013)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0012 completed, 1 Swampfoot killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 35 Swampfoot Toes (35/35)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I've been curious about these Swampfoot Mimics that are plaguing the Wilds. They look vaguely like frogs, but grow to massive proportions and are very territorial. I'd like to learn more about them.
In some cases, one of the toes is left behind when a Swampfoot combusts. If you could collect 35 of these and bring them back to study, it would help out a great deal. Let me know when you've found them!
  • Reward: Swampfoot Shirt, Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Swampfoot Sprocket, 30 XP

Molecreep Study (CY0014)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0013 completed, 1 Molecreep killed.
    • Objectives:
    • Collect 50 Molecreep Mushrooms (50/50)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: We know a little about the interaction between Mimics and fungus: The Mimics are carriers of Spores from the fungus, which you of course know are carried in their stomachs and remain intact even after the Mimic combusts. The reason we use them as currency here in Nidaria is to rid the ground of as many of the spores as we can, else they would grow into even more fungus.
Mimics are at least part of the reason why the Haze-producing fungus has been able to spread far and wide across Etherea. Strangely enough, I've heard of another type of Mimic that seems be [sic] growing fungus right on its back! The Molecreep in the Ridgeback Highlands is covered in these fungus-like growths, and I'd like to find out if these are actually clusters of fungus, or if they are just designed to resemble those mushrooms. Do you have time to help me investigate?
  • After completion: This is very exciting, [player's name]! The fungus growing on the Molecreep's back seems to be another strange symbiotic relationship between Mimics and the Haze-producing fungus. Whereas most Mimics help spread fungus by collecting Spores, these Molecreeps are indeed carrying already-grown fungus to new locations right on their backs.
What does the Molecreep get out of this arrangement though? Perhaps the fungus on its back also creates Spores those [sic] are also known to be left behind by combusting Molecreeps - though the Mimics don't seem to digest the Spores, so they can't actually be food for them. It's difficult to say, but at least we can see the benefits to the fungus.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Molecreep Sprocket, 30 XP

Aurabora Study (CY0015)

  • Location: Steamport City
  • Prerequisites: CY0010 and CY0014, 1 Aurabora killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Aurabora Barbels (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear you have encountered these twisting, turning Auraboras out in the hazelands while Trailblazing. For some reason, a few of these creatures have ventured out of the hazelands and into Steamport City. I'd love to study them while we have the chance, so would you mind helping out?
If I had to guess, I'd say the barbel appendages are the most likely part of an Aurabora to remain after combusting. If you could bring me 25 of these, it would help me a great deal.
And remember, look for the Auraboras in Steamport City. They're too hardy out in the hazelands, and won't drop anything while you're Trailblazing! Only the ones in Steamport City will drop remains.
  • After completion: It's strange that the Auraboras have these whisker-like barbels you collected. You'd typically see something like this on a fish, so this creature may have evolved from something that originally lived in the water. Some fish use barbels to search for food in water that's clouded or murky, so maybe the Auraboras use them to search through areas thick with Haze.
How do these Mimics evolve so quickly? It's only been a little over 200 years since they first started spreading across Etherea below. At any rate, thanks for helping out the Mimicology Department again, [player's name], this was a great opportunity to learn more about these creatures. Take this new Sprocket about these rare Mimics.
  • Reward: Rare Mimics: Aurabora Sprocket, 30 XP

Hazebug Study (CY0016)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0014 completed, 1 Hazebug killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 50 Hazebug Glowers (50/50)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'm sure you've seen those Hazebugs that fly back and forth with their abdomens glowing. I'd like to learn more about these creatures and how the [sic] give off that hazy glow. Do you have time to help out the Mimicology Department?
The glowers from the Hazebug's abdomen may be left behind when it combusts. If you could collect 50 of these and bring them back to study, it would help out a great deal. Let me know when you've found them!
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]! When studying the glowers of the Hazebugs, I noticed they were still dimly glowing even after being detached from the Mimics. Even more interesting, when I moved the glower near an Etherillium Tube the glowing ceased.
It does seem like the glowing is somehow connected to Haze, and is subdued by Ether in the same way. Your pickup at a Checkpoint and the background Ether field of Nidaria probably dimmed the glowing originally, and a Tube brought very close extinguished it entirely.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Hazebug Sprocket, 30 XP

Boulder Bison Study (CY0017)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0016 completed, 1 Boulder Bison killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Boulder Bison Plates (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Have you seen those Boulder Bison in Deadrock Canyon? I'm told that long ago before the Haze, smaller creatures lived in the Canyon could also roll up into a ball. Doesn't that seem strange? I'm not sure if it's true or not, we've lost so many records since then, and so many native creatures have gone extinct from the poison Haze.
  • After completion: Hi again, [player's name]. I studied the plates from the Boulder Bison, which are very tough and leathery, and surprisingly hard like stone! I'm told the Bison smash themselves into walls of stone, so they would have to be armored well enough for something like that.
Why would a creature this large need to be able to roll into a ball and smash through walls though. You'd think it could just charge at walls... rolling into a ball definitely seems like an odd way to go about it. Then again, if our fragments of records are true, we did have native animals that also rolled into balls. Seems weird to me either way!
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Boulder Bison Sprocket, 30 XP

Rockrat Study (CY0018)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0017 completed, 1 Rockrat killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 50 Rockrat Claws (50/50)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: We seem to find Rockrats in every new area we clear on the Ground... these creatures must have burrows that spread all throughout Etherea. I'd like to learn more about how they dig and tunnel their way underground. Do have some time to spare for the Mimicology Department, [player's name]?
  • After completion: Thanks for checking back in. These claws seem to be even harder and stronger than bone, which must aid their ability to dig burrows. It's peculiar that Rockrats have only been found digging sideways out of walls, instead of coming up through the ground. There must be a reason for this.
I also wonder what the lower half of a Rockrat looks like, I haven't heard any reports of a Rockrat actually climbing out of its burrow. Maybe there's a way to lure them out so we can study them more closely... I'll put some thought into that!
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Rockrat Sprocket, 30 XP

Electrawog Study (CY0019)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0018 completed, 1 Electrawog killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 10 Electrawog Legs (10/10)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Have you seen those Electrawog creatures near the Blueridge River? It's a mystery how they give off an electric charge, and even more surprising is that these Mimics live so close to water. I must learn more about these strange creatures!
The legs are the most likely part of an Electrawog to be left behind when it combusts. I know these are dangerous creatures in a dangerous area, so how about you only collect 10 of these. When you've found enough, come let me know! And don't be afraid to dive into the river if one of their legs drops in the water!
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]! As you might have guessed, whatever causes the Electrawog to produce an electric charge isn't located in the leg! Unfortunately we're stuck with whatever appendage is left by combustion, so I studied these legs for any other clues.
I did notice some strange growths on the sides of the legs, which seemed to hold a trade electrical charge. These probably don't produce the electricity, but maybe it's stored in these growths, or conducts through them.
To be honest, Tesla or Gerard would be more qualified to study these in terms of electricity, so I may pass these along to them.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Electrawog Sprocket, 30 XP

Pale Steed Study (CY0020)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0019 completed, 1 Pale Steed killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Pale Steed Muzzles (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: It seems there are a number of Mimics that emit Haze to attack their prey. How they are able to do this has always been a mystery... do they produce the Haze in their bodies like a fungus, or do they collect Haze to expel when needed?
Pale Steeds that we've found in the Ridgeback Highlands seem to have a never-ending supply of Haze to use when attacking. If we could recover some specimen from a Pale Steed, I could see if it offers any clues. Do you time [sic] to help out, [player's name]?
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. On a few of the Pale Steed Muzzles you found, there were a number of fungus-like growths inside the nostrils. Many of these were ruptured, which leads me to believe that Haze may produced in these growth pockets, and when the Pale Steed lets forth a gust of air, these pockets burst and expel Haze through its muzzle.
It must replenish that Haze quickly though, so it can do it again the next time it notices an attacker. Maybe these growths are fungus that breed inside its nostrils to produce the Haze, or maybe the Pale Steed has developed organs and tissues that are similar to the Haze-producing fungus.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Pale Steed Sprocket, 30 XP

Bulkskin Study (CY0021)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0020 completed, 1 Bulkskin killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Bulkskin Pelts (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: We've found many types of Mimics that seem to share some similarities, but are otherwise very different in looks and behavior. Take Pustossers and Pugcrawlers for example, they both seem to be mimicking some form of ancient dog, but have different qualities and act very different from one another.
Curiously, the Stiltskin and the Bulkskin are much more similar to one another than most Mimic breeds. Why are there huge differences between other Mimics, while these two are nearly identical aside from aggression? It's very odd. Would you like to help me study these Bulkskins a bit, [player's name]?
  • After completion: Hello again, [player's name]. I've been comparing these pelts to a Stiltskin pelt I borrowed from Lana, and there only seem to be slight differences. The Bulkskin fur seems to grow thicker and is more coarse than the Stiltskin fur. I wonder if we can manage to retrieve some fur from a Pustosser and Pugcrawler, and see how different those are as well?
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Bulkskin Sprocket, 30 XP

Stinkbird Study (CY0022)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0021 completed, 1 Stinkbird killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Stinkbird Tails (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: The Stinkbird is a strange mimic down in the Hatchwood Wilds: it mostly resembles a bird, but has a long tail like that of a ground-dwelling animal, and is able to produce a steam of Haze like some other Mimic I've been studying. The tail is most likely to be left behind by a Stinkbird, so try to collect 30 of these for me. When you've found enough, come let me know!
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Stinkbird Sprocket, 30 XP

Hookbill Study (CY0023)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0022 completed, 1 Hookbill killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Hookbill Beaks (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: After studying those Stinkbird specimens, I got thinking about the Hookbills that are also inhabiting the Wilds, and which seem to be closest relation to the Stinkbird that we've found. Similar makings, similar tails, yet they have very different behavior.
Unfortunately the Beak is most likely to be left behind by a Hookbill and not the tail, so I won't be able to compare these directly with the Stinkbird tails. Still, try to collect 30 of these for me and we'll see if I can learn anything from the remains. When you've found enough, come let me know!

Black Recluse Study (CY0024)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0023 completed, 1 Black Recluse killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 20 Black Recluse Legs (20/20)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I've heard about these terrible Mimics called Black Recluses, which captured a bunch of our Rooks earlier. It seems they produce webbing to climb across gaps, and a Black Recluse can also use the webbing to slow down its prey.
They sound very dangerous, but I'd really like to learn more about their anatomy. I've heard you handled them quite well earlier, so would you mind helping me out with them?
The leg should be the most likely part to be left behind by a Black Recluse. Try to gather 20 of these for me, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. I was expecting these legs to resemble of the small spiders, but they're wildly different. Some of these legs have a single sharp curved claw, which doesn't seem to grip its webbing, but instead curls around it sort of like a clothes hanger. A few of other legs you brought me also have curved claws, but also have a jagged edge, and lots of hair at the base. That webbing must be as tough as steel to hold a creature that large, and I hear that it can support the weight of Ferrics and Crags climbing on it. Strange that the Black Recluses hooks its claws around it, instead of developing an appendage with fingers to grab the webs. Why the Mimics choose the adoptions they do, and just how this choosing takes place if at all is still a mystery to us. I've rambled on enough, thanks for helping out again. I made a new Sprocket featuring this horrid creatures, so please take one for your collection.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Black Recluse Sprocket, 30 XP

Cactigrub Study (CY0025)

  • Location: Nidaria, Ridgeback Highlands
  • Prerequisites: CY0024 completed, 1 Cactigrub killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Cactigrub Spines (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear the Ridgeback Highlands are infested with a spiny relative of Blowgrub called Cactigrub. According to reports, their spines carry a venom that has a strange effect on people, which Madame Bristlecone calls being "jinxed". It seems like a weird ailment, I've never been down to the Highlands so I've never felt its effect before.
If you could retrieve some of these spines from the Cactigrub, maybe I could study the effects in relative safety here in Nidaria. I've heard you handled them well in the past, so would you mind helping me out?
A spine should occasionally be left behind by a Cactigrub after combustion. Try to gather 30 of these for me, and maybe I'll be able to extract enough of this venom to study it. Let me know when you've found enough!
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Cactigrub Sprocket, 30 XP

Hexaboar Study (CY0026)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0025 completed, 1 Hexaboar killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Hexaboar Hooves (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Phew, this Wishbone Marrow is starting to help fight the effect of being Jinxed earlier. when I headed down to Bristlecone's Shop, I ran into Lieutenant Driscoll on the way, who told me some stories about fighting the Hexaboars down in the Thicket Woods. We got talking about how strange it is to see a Mimic with six legs, when we never had any six-legged animals in the Forest.
I was hoping to learn some more about these creatures, so would you have a chance to help out?
Discoll tells me that the hooves are known to be left behind sometimes when a Hexaboar combusts. Try to gather 25 of these for me, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. After studying the Hexaboar hooves, they do resemble the hooves of pigs that is raised in some of the strongholds on the ground for our rations. They seems to be been some sort of wild pigs that inhabited the forest long ago, so it may be mimicking this ancient animal. Those green plates on the Hexaboar's body reminds about the Wallworm in Camp Calluna, so maybe it picked up some characteristics of an insect to gain its six legs. They must aid in its speed while charging, though it still seems like a strange adaptation. Thanks for helping out again [player's name]. I made another Sprocket for your collection, so please take it.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Hexaboar Sprocket, 30 XP

Bruinscale Study (CY0027)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0026 completed, 1 Bruinscale killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 20 Bruinscale Paws (20/20)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Have you seen those Bruinscale creatures in the Ridgeback Highlands? These Mimics seem to act in the same manner as Swampfoots, but they seem to look more like the ancient bears that used to roam the mountain woods. I wonder if there are any other similarities between the Bruinscale and Swampfoot other than behavior?
I hear the paws are know to be left behind sometimes when a Bruinscale combusts, as gruesome as that sounds. If you could bring me 20 of these, I could compare with the Swampfoot toes you collect earlier. Let me know when you're found enough!
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Bruinscale Sprocket, 30 XP

Cinder Steed Study (CY0028)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: Hexaboar Study (CY0026) completed, 1 Cinder Steed killed.
  • Objectives:
  • Collect 25 Cinder Steed Muzzles (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I know I've sent you out to hunt those rare Cinder Steed Mimics before, but I was hoping you could bring back some specimens from them this time. I'm told there's a herd of the creatures in the Ridgeback Highlands right now, and they're prone to leaving behind their bony muzzles when they combust. Do you have time to help out?
If you could bring me 25 Cinder Steed muzzles, it would help my research a great deal.
And remember, look for the Cinder Steeds throughout the Ridgeback Highlands. For some reason, only these ones will leave behind remains when they combust.

Dewdrop Study (CY0029)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0027 completed, 1 Dewdrop killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 35 Dewdrop Plates (35/35)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: We know that the Haze-producing fungus is spread by Spores, which we've found growing on certain types of fungus. Most Mimics seem to harvest these Spores, which are somehow protected from combustion when the Mimic is killed. One type of Mimic, however, seems to expel a different type of spore to cause fungus to grow.
Dewdrops seem to encase a certain spore in some kind of gel, which causes that thorny fungus to quickly grow. I'd like to learn more about these strange Mimics, so do you have some time to spare for the Mimicology Department?
I hear that an armored plate is likely to be left behind when a Dewdrop combusts. Try to find 35 of these, and let me know when you've collected enough!
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. These armored plates are very strange... on the one hand, they remind me of the plates from a Snapshell, but on the other hand there's something very fungus-like about it. I'm not sure why this creature needs armor like this at all, unless it has something to do with whatever process coats the ripe spores in gel.
The fungus that grow from the Dewdrop's spores don't seem to be Haze-producing, so I wonder what purpose it serves. They can be annoying to travel through, so perhaps the Dewdrop's goal is to make it difficult to enter areas that are home to the Haze-producing fungus.
Thanks for helping out again, [player's name]. I've got a new Sprocket ready for you again, so please take it for your collection.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Dewdrop Sprocket, 30 XP

Blowgrub Study (CY0030)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0029 completed, 1 Blowgrub killed
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 20 Blowgrub Heads (20/20)
    • Collect 20 Firegrub Heads (20/20)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Remember back when you started helping me with my research, and collected Firegrub Heads for me to study? It was at least a few weeks ago... time sure does fly when you're busy! I've been wanting to compare the anatomy of Firegrubs and Blowgrubs for a while, but when I was checking our previous Firegrub specimens I noticed they had started deteriorating!
The remains didn't combust when the Mimic died, but it seems like they slowly break apart on their own, even when tightly sealed in storage. So if I want to compare Blowgrubs and Firegrubs, it looks like I'll need some remains of each to study. Do you have time to help out?
Thanks! You'll need to gather 20 Blowgrub Heads and 20 Firegrub Heads so we can make a good comparison with the best specimens. Let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: Perfect! Hmm, I'd better label these specimen bags so I don't get the two confused. I hope you don't mix them up in your supply pack!
Hello again, [player's name]. I've been comparing the Firegrub heads and Blowgrub heads, and they're very similar than any other two breeds of Mimics that we've seen.
The main difference I've noticed is that the surface of the Firegrub head seems tougher than that of a Blowgrub, which is either to withstand the flames on its body, or caused by them. Other than that, the Firegrub head is slightly smaller than the Blowgrub. And of course there are traces of the flame-retardant jelly that we discovered earlier, which the Blowgrub does not have.
In all the years since the Skystone shattered, there haven't been any recorded sightings of Mimics like the Firegrub, so we think they're a very new breed that emerged after the fires started burning in the Hatchwood Wilds. Perhaps we'll eventually see the Firegrub evolving into a new type of Mimic that isn't as similar to a Blowgrub, or which takes on other adaptations.
Or perhaps we'll have exterminated all of the Mimics on the ground before they have a chance to evolve any further! Though we know Mimics adapt much quicker than any natural creatures, so there's no telling how soon they'll evolve. Anyway, thanks again for the help, [player's name], I've got a new Sprocket as usual for your collection!
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Blowgrub Sprocket, 30 XP

Batowl Study (CY0031)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0030 completed, 1 Batowl killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 20 Batowl Wings (20/20)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear you're able to kill those Batowl Mimics before they bomb themselves into the ground. Such a strange behavior! Would you like to help me study these creatures? It sounds like you're at least capable of it.
I hear that the wing is likely to be left behind when a Batowl combusts. Try to collect 20 of these, and make sure you take down the Batowl before it bombs into the ground -- nothing survives the blast of Haze when it crashes down!
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. I have studied these Batowl wings, and they're obviously very similar to native bats – hence the name! While the heads of these creatures are more owl-like, their wings are more bat-like than bird-like.
This would explain why the Batowl hangs upside-down. Normal bats can’t take off into flight from the ground, since their wings don’t provide a lot of lift like a bird’s wing does. These creatures have mimicked this wing structure, so they need to take off from a height to be able to fly. It’s strange that in both the Batowl and the Wallglider, they didn’t mimic the owl’s wing instead, to provide better life for flight.
Thanks for helping out again, [player's name]. Take this new Sprocket for your collection!
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Batowl Sprocket, 30 XP

Crawback Study (CY0032)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: Batowl Study (CY0031) completed, 1 Crawback killed
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Crawback Claws (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I've been wanting to study those Crawback creatures that you first encountered in the Charred Forest, and I hear they've spread around the Ridgeback Highlands as well. They're quick to attack, so it's dangerous work collecting specimens from them, though I was hoping you'd be up to the challenge to help me in my studies. What do you say [player's name]?
That’s the spirit! It seems the claw is likely to be left behind when a Crawback combusts. Try to collect 25 of these, and let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: Hello again, [player's name]. The Crawback claws resemble the claws of some native creatures that once lived in our streams and our oceans. We haven't seen any there for decades though – the Manglers have exterminated most of the native life in Blueridge River, and a thick cloud of Haze has settled over the oceans as far as we can see.
Thankfully, Otto in the Victory Labs has copied some Electroneer records on native animals for me, to help identify which creatures these mimics are resembling. According to the records, the native crayfish were a lot smaller than the Crawback mimics. Obviously a larger size is more useful for attacking humans, so it's not surprising that the Mimic variety is so large.
Thanks for helping out again. Take this new sprocket about for your collection!
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Crawback Sprocket, 30 XP

Pinwheel Study (CY0033)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0032 completed, 1 Pinwheel killed
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Pinwheel Tentacles (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Have you seen those strange Pinwheel creatures in the Copperstone Mines? They're one of the strangest types of Mimics I've heard of, floating and spinning unlike any native creature I know. Would you have time to help out the Mimicology Department with Pinwheels, [player's name]?
Great! I'd really like to study the tentacles that the Pinwheel spins as it floats. Do they propel the Mimic through the air, or does it just use to lash out at prey? It's so bizarre! A tentacle is likely to be left behind when a Pinwheel combusts, so try to collect 30 of these specimens for me. Let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: After studying the tentacles, it seems like they might serve two uses. They mainly seem to be used to attack its prey, and with the claws on the ends and the spinning motion, together they act like a spinning sawmill saw on its victims. It also seems that (the) spinning motion of the tentacles could help in propelling the Pinwheel to the left or right as it descends.
To launch itself into the air, the Pinwheel seems to use these tentacles to push off the ground. I'm not sure how it manages to float slowly back down though - the tentacles may have something to do with it, or maybe it's also expelling air downwards somehow to slow its descent. One way or another, it is sure an unusual creature... reminds of an aquatic animal more than something that lives on land.
Thanks for helping out again, [player's name], and take this new Sprocket about Pinwheels!
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Pinwheel Sprocket, 30 XP

Clampbright Study (CY0034)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0033 completed, 1 Clampbright killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 10 Clampbright Pearls (10/10)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'm told that when you rescued Cody in the Copperstone Mines, you used some Mimics called Clampbrights to light your way along the path. What strange creatures they are, hanging stationary from the ceiling and providing light when attacked! I'd love to learn more about these oddities, so do you have time to help out?
Thanks, [player's name]. One of the shining pearls is likely to be left behind when a Clampbright combusts, through since you [sic] close after you attack them, it might take a while to wear one down until it combusts. Why don't you just try to collect 10 of these specimens for me, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: [player's name], the pearls from the Clampbrights are very strange. When you brought them to me, they were still emitting light, but over the course of the night, they slowly faded out. There must be some chemical process within the Clampbright that causes the pearls to start emitting light, though I haven’t found any means to duplicate it when the pearls are detached. Neither electricity nor heat had any effect...maybe I should check with Tesla to see if he has any ideas.
I’ll come back with these later, but thanks for collecting these for me. Here, take this Sprocket for your collection.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Clampbright Sprocket, 30 XP

Crescentwolf Study (CY0035)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0034 completed, 1 Crescentwolf killed
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Crescentwolf Telsons (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear you have some experience with the Crescentwolves down in the Ridgeback Highlands. I was hoping to get some specimens from these creatures, so are you available to help out the Mimicology Department again?
Glad to hear it, [player's name]! We believe that all of the native wolves have been killed off by the Mimics, but oddly enough the other creature the Crescentwolf is mimicking -- the scorpion -- seems to have survived in Deadrock Canyon. Since we know a bit about scorpions, it would be great to compare them with the Crescentwolf.
It seems the telson is likely to be left behind when a Crescentwolf combusts... that's the stringer [sic] on the end of its tail. Try to collect 30 of these, and let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: I disected the Crescentwolf telsons, and they seem very similar to those of scorpions. There is something strange about the Crescentwolf though: Their stingers seem to have venom glands just like scorpions, but for some reason it doesn’t seem like they inject their victims with venom. Instead, I hear they lash out with their tails to ward off attackers.
We're noticing a pattern with some Mimics, where they seem to be mimicking certain parts of other creatures, but aren't using them in the same way. I wonder if some earlier breed of Crescentwolf did inject venom with their stingers, and gradually started lashing out instead... or if some future breed of the Mimics will start using the venom. Very interesting! Anyway, thanks for helping out, and take this Sprocket I made about the creatures.
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Crescentwolf Sprocket, 30 XP

Harpoon Study (CY0036)

  • Location: Hatchwood Wilds
  • Prerequisites: CY0035 completed, 1 Harpoon killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Harpoon Darts (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text I've sent you out to hunt those rare Harpoon Mimics before, but a herd of them has been spotted in the Hatchwood Wilds, and I was hoping you could bring back some specimens from them this time. They're prone to leaving behind one of their poisonous darts when they combust, so could help me collect some of these?

Pidgefly Study (CY0037)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0035 completed, 1 Pidgefly killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 40 Pidgefly Wings (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Not sure why I waited this long, but I'd like to get some samples from the Pidgeflies that seem to be just about everywhere. Do you have time to help, [player]'s name]?
Great! I hear that the wing is likely to be left behind when a Pidgefly combusts. Try to collect 40 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. I’ve been studying these wings from the Pidgeflies, and I can’t figure out how they’re able to keep such a large creature aloft. These types of wings work for small insects, but the added weight of the large Pidgefly should be too much for these wings to handle.
It’s astounding that these wings function, and that the Pidgefly hasn’t developed a bird’s wing instead. Maybe the Pidgefly itself is very light, to lessen the strain on these wings. Very interesting!
Thanks for helping out again, [player's name]. Take this new Sprocket for your collection!
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Pidgefly Sprocket, 30 XP

Stinkstrider Study (CY0038)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0037 completed, 1 Stinkstrider killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Stinkstrider Wings (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I've been wondering how those Stinkstrider Mimics are able to waft clouds of Haze at their attackers. How is this Haze produced? If you have the time, I could use some help in gathering some specimens from these creatures.
That's the spirit! The wing is likely to be left behind when a Stinkstrider combusts, which may provide some clues about the Haze it produces. Try to collect 25 of these, and let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: On a couple of specimens from the Stinkstriders, I've noticed traces of some kind of gland near the shoulder of the wing, sort of like your armpit would be. This may be where the Stinkstrider emits the haze-like substance that it fans towards its attacker. All of the specimens had an awful smell, but the ones that had bit of these glands smelled so terrible that I had to grab a gasmask. Thanks for the assistance once again, [Player's name]. Take this sprocket for your troubles.

  • Objectives:
    • Collect 40 Wallworm Prolegs (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'm looking for some specimens of the Wallworms in the Hatchwood Wilds, and was hoping you could help gather them for me. Do you have time to help out?
I hear that the stubby proleg that it uses to climb is likely to be left behind when a Wallworm combusts. Try to collect 40 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: Hello again, [player's name]. I studied the prolegs from the Wallworms, and noticed that they have multiple hooked spikes on the end to grab onto the surface of a wall. It seems they function similar to what you'd see on a caterpillar, but these hooks are much larger and stronger. I'll add this information to my notes on Wallworms, thanks for helping out. Every bit of information helps give us a clearer picture of what we're dealing on the ground. Please take this Sprocket for your trouble!

Toy Recluse Study (CY0040)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0039 completed, 1 Toy Recluse killed.

    • Collect 35 Toy Recluse Brows (35/35)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Have you seen those Toy Recluse spider-like Mimics in the Deadrock Canyon? They have a curious growth of hair that looks like a giant eyebrow. I have no idea what function it serves, but I'd like to collect some samples to see if I can learn more. Do you have time to help? Thanks. Those hairy Brows are likely to be left when a Toy Recluse combusts. Try to collect 35 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.

Creeper Study (CY0041)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0015, CY0040, and 1 Creeper killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 25 Creeper Pelts (25/25)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear you've encountered Creepers out in the hazelands while Trailblazing. For some reason, a few of these creatures have ventured out of the hazelands and into the Ridgeback Highlands. I'd love to study them while we have the chance, so would you mind helping out?
Thanks! If I had to guess, I'd say the pelt is likely to remain behind when a Creeper combusts. If you could bring me 25 of these, it would help my research a great deal.
And remember, look for Creepers in the Ridgeback Highlands. They're too hardy out in the hazelands, and won't drop anything while you're Trailblazing! Only the ones in the Ridgeback Highlands will drop remains.

Silksnake Study (CY0042)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0040 completed, 1 Silksnake killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 40 Silksnake Skins (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I've been told that Silksnakes have been shedding their skins lately when they combust. I'd love to get some samples of these skins, so do you have time to help out the Mimicology Department?
The skins are likely to be left behind when a Silksnake combusts, so try to collect 40 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. I was attempting to flatten these Silksnake Skins to store them, and strangely enough they keep coiling and twisting back to their own shape. This must be a result of the how the Silksnake coils itself around its line of silk, with the skin stretching in a certain way to keep this shape. This skin is very tough, so I wonder if these Silksnake skins could be used as a material for Lana Westwood's clothing. She already uses the silk from Silksnakes for some fine clothing, so she probably won't be opposed to it. I'll have to bring it up next time I see her! Thanks for helping up again, and as usual I have a new Sprocket for your collection.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Silksnake Sprocket, 30 XP

Quilltoad Study (CY0043)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0042 completed, 1 Quilltoad killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Quilltoad Quills (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Luckily we have medicines like Acid Phosphate and Elixir of Vitriol that cure a variety of poisons, but I'd still like to learn more about the poison that que Quilltoads have in their quills. If you have the time, could you help me gather some quills from these creatures?
Some of the quills from a Quilltoad's back are likely to be left behind when it combusts. Try to collect 30 of these, and hopefully some specimens will still contain the poison to study.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Quilltoad Sprocket, 30 XP

Jellywog Study (CY0044)

  • Location: Hatchwood Wilds
  • Prerequisites: CY0043 completed, 1 Jellywog killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Jellywog Tendrils (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: Have you ever wondered about those tendrils dangling from a Jellywog's head? They sway back and forth when they're floating, and hang down like hair when they're sitting. I'd like to find out if these tendrils serve any purpose, so do you have the time to help out?
That's what I like to hear! The tendrils are likely to be left behind when the Jellywog combusts. Try to collect 30 of these, and let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: Good to see you again, [player's name]. I've been studying these Jellywog tendrils, and according to my research there were once creatures in the ocean with a bulbous head and long dangling tentacles. To be honest, the creatures may have survived deep below the surface, but the low-lying oceans have been covered in a blanket of haze for over a century, so it's hard to say.
These ancient creatures could sting their prey with their tentacles, though these Jellywog tendrils don't seem to serve that purpose. It's possible that these tendrils were stingers early in the Jellywog's evolution, but over time they adapted in different ways and didn't carry out that function.
I haven't found any records of these sea creatures inflating their heads to glide out of the water, so I'm fairly certain that's a new Mimic development. As always, these Mimics have strange adaptions.
  • Reward: Mimics of Hatchwood Wilds: Jellywog Sprocket, 30 XP

Pugcrawler Study (CY0045)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0044 completed, 1 Pugcrawler killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 50 Pugcrawler Tails (50/50)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I hear that Rook Reynolds in Steamport City is often on Pustosser duty collecting their tails. Maybe you've helped him out in the past with these? To be honest, I think Commander Carter asks for the tails just to prove that Reynolds isn't slacking off. He didn't seem to have a use for them, so he dropped a bunch off with me to help with my research.
After I started studying the tails, I noticed that some of them were a bit different from the others, and got wondering if there were some Pugcrawler tails mixed in with the bunch. I was hoping you could help me out and collect some genuine Pugcrawler tails so I could compare with the others, What do you say?

Rockbug Study CY0046)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0045 completed, 1 Rockbug killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 40 Rockbug Paws (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'm sure you've seen those Rockbug Mimics through Etherea. I've always wondered what kind of creature is hiding underneath that rocky armor, but I've never had any specimens to study. Do you think you could help out the Mimicology Department again and collect some remains of Rockbugs? I'd guess that the exposed paws are likely to be left behind when the Mimic combusts. Try to collect 40 of these and let me know when you've found enough!
  • After completion: Welcome back, [player's name]. I've been looking over these specimens from the Rockbugs, and you'd be surprised at what I learned! The legs and paws are somewhat insect-like, but they seem to be more closely related to a Stiltskin than any other Mimics, besides Bulkskins of course. What a strange find! I'd imagine that Hivehats must also be closely related, though we may have to study those at later date. I've recorded the information in my log, eventually we should be able to piece together some sort of classification system for these Mimics. Thanks for the help as always, and take this new Sprocket I made.
  • Reward: Mimics of Steamport City: Rockbug Sprocket, 30 XP

Stinger Study (CY0047)

  • Location: Ridgeback Highlands
  • Prerequisites: CY0046 completed, 1 Stinger killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 30 Stinger Arms (30/30)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'd like to study some specimens from those Stinger creatures in the Ridgeback Highlands. They fly around like some sort of wasp, but I suspect they're not very similar to insects otherwise. Do you have time to help out? The arms are likely to be left behind when the Stinger combusts. Try to collect 30 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • Welcome back, [player's name]. Those arms from the Stingers are definitely not insect-like!
They more look like claws on a creature that burrows in the ground, though I doubt the Stinger does much burrowing. Those arms just seem to hang from its body with little use, so I'd imagine that earlier forms of the Stinger evolved form a burrowing creature.
Strange that the land-based Molecreep lost its limbs and claws, while the airborne Stinger kept them. I wonder if these two species ranched off from one another, of if they've always been separate. So many unanswered questions!
  • Reward: Mimics of Ridgeback Highlands: Stinger Sprocket, 30 XP

Snakehopper Study (CY0048)

  • Location: Etherea
  • Prerequisites: CY0047 completed, 1 Snakehopper killed.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 40 Snakehopper Paws (40/40)
    • Bring the remains to Cypress to study
    • Wait for Cypress to study the specimens
    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I don't have any notes in my Mimicology logs about Snakehoppers, and I was hoping you could hunt some down for me to research. Do you have time to help out?
The paws are likely to be left behind when the Snakehopper combusts. Try to collect 40 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.
  • After completion: It's very strange - now that I'm studying more of the Mimics from Steamport City, I'm noticing a lot of creatures resembling strange Stiltskins. If I didn't know these were from Snakehoppers, the only difference between these paws and those from a Stiltskin is the fur color and claw length. I wonder what ancestor these Snakehoppers and Stiltskin had in common. Maybe the Electroneers have some records of animal life in the Steamport area, if these Mimics evolved there it could give us some clues.

    • Return to Cypress
  • Text: I'd like to do some research on those Matterhorn Mimics in the Ridgeback Highlands. What do you say, are you up for helping out in the name of Mimicology?
The horns are likely to be left behind when the Matterhorn combusts, so that seems as good a place as any to start studying them. Try to collect 30 of these, and let me know when you've found enough.

  • Text: Nidaria is currently in a state of immense growth. We are continually getting a flood of refugees signing up for the Nidarian Army. My work here has increased dramatically. I can barely keep my supplies in stock. I feel great sorrow for all the damage inflicted on our troops. I am sure you are well aware of the dangers below, young [player's name]. I would be most grateful if you would so kindly gather 12 Chestnuts for me. When ground into a powder, they make for an excellent thickening agent in certain cures. The Chestnuts have been horded by Rockrats scattered throughout all of Steam City. Occasionally they will drop Chestnuts instead of the normal spores, so may patience be with you. Once you have 12 Chestnuts, return to me for your reward.
  • Reward: 10 XP, Cures: Sprained Cures Sprocket, Chestnut Cluster

Steamport City Barometrics (OT0001)

  • Prerequisites: Steamport City cleared
  • Objectives:
    • Collect all 10 graph rolls from the barographs in Steamport City. (10/10)
    • Return to Beatrix
    • Give Beatrix the Graph Rolls
  • Text: Now that we have a functional Etherillium grid around Steamport City, my assistant can begin studying the environmental effects of the receding haze. I have set up 10 Barographs to take measurements of the atmospheric pressure in various areas of Steamport City. They should have recorded long enough to yield precise barometric data.
To retrieve the graph rolls from the Barographs, you will simply need to step on the release switch located next to the machine. Once you have 10 graph rolls, give them to my assistant who will be stationed in the West End Ruins.
  • Reward: 10 XP, Etherillium: Discovery Sprocket, Barograph Display (if the player talked to Beatrix after completing the quest, they also could have received a Cream Soda as a reward)

Steamport City Circuit (OT0002)

  • Location: Steamport City
  • Prerequisites: OT0001, MD0210
  • Objectives:
    • Restore the Drop Points Tubes (8/8)
    • Return to Tesla
  • Text: All across Steamport City, the large Etherillium Tubes that you use during travel as Drop Points have been cut out of the grid. That's right, they're all shut off, and with it we're losing the protection of Ether those tubes were supplying.
To make matters worse, without this Ether protection, the Mimics in the area have become far more dangerous. If we don't do something about it, I fear the Rooks will need to abandon their posts, and possibly the entire area if they can't hold the ground.
  • After completion: Great work, [player's name]! Our installation in Steamport City is safe, at least for the time being.
  • Reward: Etherillium: Circuit Sprocket, 25 XP

For more information, go to the Remnants of Skystone wiki's article on this quest.

Water Samples (OT0005)

  • Location: Camp Calluna
  • Prerequisites: OT0002 Completed, Hatchwood Wilds cleared
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 12 Water Samples from Watergrubs
    • Return to Tesla
  • Text: Cypress asked for my assistance in studying those peculiar Watergrub Mimics that sprout from pools in Hatchwood Wilds. I'd like to obtain some samples of the water that fills these creatures, though it got dangerous as my assistant Beatrix was setting up the sampling devices and she had to escape. I was hoping a trained recruit such as yourself could help out in her stead.
We received Chief Juniper's permission to install some water sampling devices near the Watergrub pools, though as Beatrix started assembling them her path was suddenly blocked by Crawbacks! After hiding in the lagoon in the Charred Forest, they seem to have taken a liking to pools of water.
Beatrix managed to install the devices near the Watergrub pools, though you'll have to coax the creatures away from Crawbacks first. If you hit a Watergrub into one of our sampling devices, the lid will close and a water sample container will eject from the front of the device. We have 12 water sample devices set up, which should give us a good sampling of the water makeup inside these Mimics. Collect all 12 water samples, and bring them back to me as soon as you can.
  • After completion: Thank you, [character's name]. Glad I can count on you for aiding the field of science. I'll begin studying these samples shortly, and send someone down to disassemble the sampling devices. Much to do, much to do...
  • Reward: Nidaria: Victory Labs Sprocket, 40 XP

    • Hit the switch to make the 4th Tube Base.
    • Collect 4th Tube Base.
    • Install 5th Copper Roll.
    • Hit the switch to make the 5th Tube Base.
    • Collect 5th Tube Base.
    • Remove Tube Base Die from Machine Press
    • Return Die to Wystan
    • Take Tube Bases to Otto von Tesla
  • Text: Here at Victory Labs, we have been burning through supplies. Quite literally; one of my assistants left a crate of tube bases too close to a running Bunsen burner. I'm surprised it didn't burn down all of Victory Labs. We have to be very careful with open flames up here in Nidaria. Could you get us some new Bases for our Etherillium Tubes?
  • Reward: 42 XP, Otto von Tesla: Intro Sprocket

Ether Tubes for the Rooks (OT0007)

  • Location: Steamport City/Hatchwood Wilds
  • Prerequisites: OT0006 Completed, Accepted Cream Soda from Beatrix in Steamport City
  • Objectives:
    • Deliver Replacement Tubes to the 14 Rooks in Steamport City (14/14)
    • Deliver Replacement Tubes to the 7 Rooks in the Hatchwood Wilds (7/7)
    • Return to Otto von Tesla
  • Text: The Admiral has given me orders to prepare a large batch of Ether Tubes. They are for the Rooks on the ground in Steamport City and the Hatchwood Wilds to be used in their personal Spectra Circuits.
I cannot risk the tubes being damaged in a supply drop, so I need to hand deliver them. Would you be willing to do this?
Now I suggest doing one area at a time. First go to Steamport City and deliver the replacement Tubes to the Rooks on the ground. Counting Commander Carter, there should be 14 Rooks in need of tubes.
Once you have Steamport City finished, move onto the Hatchwood Wilds where there should be 7 Rooks counting the Fire Chief and Commander Harris.
  • Reward: 31 XP, Otto von Tesla: Graduation Sprocket

Golembombers in... (OT0008)

OT0008 was a Daily Quest, and changed from day to day in a cyclical manner. The format, reward and remarks were mostly the same, and the only thing that changed was the location of the quest.

  • Prerequisites: [specified area] cleared
  • Objectives:
    • Defeat the 20 Patrolling Golembombers (20/20)
    • Return to Tesla
  • Text: We've gotten reports of 20 Golembombers spread across [area], and the second they see a Rook we've sent in, they fire off an explosive blast to knock them unconscious. We desperately need to clear these beasts out of the area, or else we'll lose the progress we've made on the Ground.
Here's where things get tricky: To sneak in and take down these Golembombers, you'll need to cloak yourself in Sporedust so they don't recognize you as a human. I've sent plans for the construction of a Spore Duster to the Rooks in [area], and they should have assembled one near the Drop Point. When you land in the area, walk through the Spore Duster to cloak yourself in Sporedust.
Golembombers won't immediately recognize you as a threat, and neither will most aggressive Mimics! However, if you take damage by bumping into a Mimic, they'll notice you -- and you'll lose some of that precious Sporedust that keeps you safe. If you get hurt while in a room with a Golembomber, they'll also become alerted for a while so you can't attack them.
Even with the Sporedust, if you rush in and attack a Golembomber, they'll notice you and set off the alarm. You'll need to hit the packs on their backs while they're turned away to successfully defeat them. But be careful: If you run out of Sporedust, or if a Golembomber notices you, you'll be knocked out!
As you can tell, this is a risky mission -- though it's essential to our success on the Ground as well! Be swift and be stealthy, and reclaim [area] from the Golembombers!
[Note: the remarks for Golembombers in Ridgeback Highlands says "I've sent plans... to the Rooks and Banderos" instead of simply "I've sent plans... to the Rooks"]
  • Reward: 25 Brass, 50 XP

List of quests with the OT0008 ID:

Weather Balloons (OT0009)

  • Location: Paydirt Summit
  • Prerequisites: BX0003 completed, Ridgeback Highlands cleared
  • Objectives:
    • Talk to Beatrix near the Summit Tramway
    • Launch the Weather Gizmos (10/10)
    • Return to Beatrix
    • Check back with Beatrix tomorrow
    • Return to Beatrix
    • Collect the Weather Gizmos (10/10)
    • Return to Beatrix with the Gizmos
  • Text: I've sent Beatrix to the Ridgeback Highlands along with a team of Field Electroneers for some research on the area. They'll be taking some reading in a number of strategic areas on the Summit, and I was hoping you could check in with Beatrix to see how things are progressing. Are you free to help?
Beatrix should have her equipment set up near the Tramway station on Paydirt Summit, where you first met Commander Owens and the other Rooks in the area. Find out how things are coming along with their research.
  • Beatrix's remarks after launching all gizmos: Thank you so much, [character's name]! You really saved me there. Now we just need to wait until the equipment is finished taking its readings. After about a day, the balloons start to lose their gas and descend back to the ground.
If you're still free, come check with me tomorrow, I could probably use your help again finding the gizmos after they've landed.
  • Reward: Electroneer: Field Electroneer Sprocket, Weather Gizmo

Hatchwood Circuit Run (OT0010)

  • Location: Hatchwood Wilds
  • Prerequisites: Hatchwood Wilds cleared
  • Objectives:
    • Restore the Drop Point Tubes (6/6)
    • Return to Tesla
  • Text: The Checkpoint Tubes installed around the Hatchwood Wilds have all been disconnected from the Etherillium circuit, and we're losing the valuable protection the emitted Ether gives us against Haze and swarms of Mimics. We have yet to discover what is causing our Tube installations to be disconnected, but I suspect some sort of Mimics are involved.
In the meantime, it's essential that we restore the Ether Tubes at the checkpoints, so once again we've installed breaker switches that you'll need to use to reactivate them. While the circuit is open, the Ether tubes around the perimeter are disabled, so you'll need to be quick about switching all of the breakers to complete the circuit. After you hit a switch, you'll have 2 minutes to reach the next Checkpoint and activate it, as Haze will be quickly filling the area.
We mustn't let the Haze overtake the Hatchwood Wilds, or the Calluan Ferrics' Camp in the forest! Make it to all 6 Checkpoints to restore power to all of the Ether Tubes, and report back when you've completed the task!
  • After completion: Bravo, [player's name]! Job well done once again. I'll advise Admiral Stanton to keep the Rook Scouts alerted for any Mimics tampering with our Etherillium Grid. Thanks for the help!
  • Reward: Etherillium: Drop Point Sprocket, 50 XP, 150 Spores

I mean... most of the aging Aeronauts always say that the Skystone fell from the sky. So now that our whole world is engulfed with creatures and haze that came from this Skystone, wouldn't it make sense to study its source? Lana is always telling me that I need to have a focus, something beyond just sitting around guarding the Boiler. So I'm going to focus my thoughts beyond the clouds. But I can't do it alone; do you think you could help me? You were thinking the same thing? Well I'm glad we are on the same page then, Thanks for helping me out with this. Check the Mine entrance near Bandero Gabbro, but if things have gotten bad you may need to try a different entrance.
  • Skylark Boone's remarks when found: [Player's name]! Thank goodness you found me, I thought I was done for!
After I was done checking on Gabbro, I thought I'd take a look around the Mines, and that's when the horde of Mimicrags captured me and started sealing the entrances. What were they planning to do to me? I don't understand!
As long as those Mimicrags are taken care of, I think I'll be alright doing a bit exploring in here. I can handle normal Mimics without a problem anyway! Thanks again for saving me, [player's name]. Please let Vesper know I'm safe and will be back shortly.

Wystan's Quests

Finish the Rolling Mill (WY0001)

  • Location: Steamport City
  • Prerequisites: Steamport City cleared
  • Objectives:
    • Install the Jaw Clutch in the Rolling Mill.
    • Talk to Commander Carter in regards to the Brass Bar.
    • Retrieve the Brass Bar from the Hookbill in the factory.
    • Create a roll of brass with the Rolling Mill.
    • Give Brass Roll to Wystan.
  • Text: Nidaria has been gettin' pretty darn crowded. Not only is it making more work for me, but now Admiral Stanton is placing weight restrictions on Nidarian Decks. The first thing to go is my Rolling Mill. It's used to take chunks of metal and roll them into nice ol' sheets. This kinds process is used quite a bit in the makings of Blaster Cuffs. So the good news is that they're building me a big ol' one down in Steam City. The bad news is... well, now I got a whole mess of hoops I got to jump through just to get anything made around here.
All right then. Let's get started. What I will need you ta do first is install this one last part into the machine. It's a Jaw Clutch, sort of aah... helps with all that rollin'. Next, I will need you to test it out. The Commander should have a brass bar that you can use to roll into a sheet of brass. Once ya do that, just come on back to me, and we'll see if I can't get ya something' nice for your trouble.
  • Reward: 10 XP, Machines: Rolling Mill Sprocket, Brass Table

Sewer Recycling (WY00002)

    • Collect 20 Sewer Pipes (20/20) and 10 Manhole Covers (10/10).
    • Return the parts to Wystan
  • Text: Sure, making furniture from raw materials is good and all, but I prefer to do a little recycling. I gots this idea for a table made out of some repurposed items from the sewers. If you help me gather a few more supplies, I'll let you have one... free of charge?
Just bring me 20 small Sewer Pipes, and 10 Manhole Covers. That should be enough to make a handful of these tables. Pugcrawlers have an affinity towards Manhole Covers, while Slugrats have been known to drop a Sewer Pipe or two... weird huh?
  • Reward: 20 XP, Steamport City: Sewer Inlet Sprocket, Sewer Table

One Week Only! (WY0004)

This quest was only available from June 30, 2009 to July 6, 2009.

  • Location: Hatchwood Wilds
  • Prerequisites: Access to Hatchwood Wilds
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 35 Tin Scraps (35/35)
    • Return to Wystan
  • Text: I've just finished a new line of furniture with some nice hardwood bars, tables, and couches - maybe you've seen it already? Well I thought for this week only I'd give away a piece of this furniture for anyone who collects some scraps of tin for me. I hear that Hookbills have been scavenging scraps of tin from some faraway mines. Sounds like it's a high quality tin with few impurities, a lot better than the stuff we usually find in Steamport City and the Hatchwoods. So if you could hunt down some Hookbills and get 35 tin scraps for me, I'll hand over a section of a hardwood bar counter to you free of charge! If I was too generous I'd gotta go outta business, so only one recruit from your homestead can do this little errand for me, and you've only got one week before I stop this bargain. So be quick about it!
  • Reward: Bar - Inside Section

Chain Repairs (WY0005)

  • Location: Gearlock Factory
  • Prerequisites: WY0002 completed.
    • Objectives:
    • Retrieve 20 Chains from Snakehoppers and Slugrats in the Factory
    • Deliver the Chains to Wystan
  • Text: Some of these chains that hold the decks together here in Nidaria are lookin' pretty shabby. Admiral Stanton asked me to look into some repairs for these chains, it's my Nidarian duty and all. Well, I don't have many chains layin' around, but I hear there are some down in the Factory in good shape.
So last time Rook Spencer had Nidarian leave, he told me there were some a' them Snakehoppers and Slugrats making their way into the Factory, and grabbing a bunch of chains. Do you think they make nests with them or something? Weird stuff, I'll tell ya. Well whatever, they've got the chains we need, so you'll just have to hunt those critters down in the Factory.
I'd say you should find 10 Slugrats and 10 Snakehoppers with chains down there. Bring back the 20 chains, and we'll see what kind of shape they're still in.
  • Reward: Nidaria: Merchant Deck Sprocket

Furniture Supplies (WY0007)

  • Location: Gearlock Factory and Copperstone Mine
  • Prerequisites: MD0306 Completed, WY0003 Completed, CJ0002 not active.
  • Objectives:
    • Collect 15 Brackets from the Gearlock Factory (15/15)
    • Return to Wystan
    • Collect 20 Nails from Bruinscales (20/20)
    • Return to Wystan
    • Make 2 Rolls of Steel (2/2)
    • Return to Wystan
    • Wait for Wystan to finish the table
    • Return to Wystan for your Table
  • Text: Hey there, [player's name]. I hope you've seen the Gearlock furniture I've got in stock, I'm really proud of how these new designs turned out. The thing is, it takes a lot of supplies to put these things together, and I'm runnin' kinda low on parts to keep buildin' them.
Could ya do me a favor and help me gather some metal and supplies? If ya got the time to help, I'll throw in a Gearlock Wide Table as a reward for ya, free of charge! What do ya say, [player's name]?
I knew I could count on ya! OK, first thing's first: I'll need some more metal brackets to put these things together. I had another recruit make up a bunch at the Machine Press, but they weren't very reliable... I hear they ran into some Stiltskins in the factory and ended up scattering the brackets all around the factory.
That fella hasn't brought back my machine die yet, so we'll just have to pick up all the ones that he dropped instead of makin' some more. So look around the Factory for 15 brackets, and come on back when you've found 'em all, and we'll go from there.
  • Reward: Gearlock Wide Table, Wystan: Intro Sprocket, 30 XP
