Is there any possible way to hide the results from the polls without affecting the comments in articles and other problems that we had experienced last month?

I like how the results were hidden from voters (which it turns out as one choice pulls ahead of the rest, people will either vote for that one or will be discouraged from participating) and with last month's vote totals hidden from view, we had double the usual number of voters.

If there isn't, no worries. But if there is a way to do this without affecting other parts of the wikia, it would be fantastic. Please advise.

    Sincerely,

    Bdj610

    • Hi and thanks for reaching out! I submitted the Common.js for review with a change that'll potentially fix this. I'll check back and verify, or investigate further if the results still show after the change as gone through!

    • My change unfortunately did not fix the problem, I'm trying to get someone more experienced with JS to look into the issue. I'll update you on this once I have a solution. Sorry for the delay!

    • Take your time. This isn't a high priority on our end. Just let us know what you find. Have a great weekend.

    • Just to keep you in the loop, the person who did the fix is on holiday apparently, and I'll ask him to have a look once he's back (this Monday I believe). I will keep you updated!

    • Hi, just to update you, I am still pursuing this, and will message you as soon as I get a reply, it's not been forgotten!

    • The poll now should hide results again! Sorry for the delay. Let me know if there's anything else | can do for you!

The poll doesn’t show results after voting though.

    • I don't vote on the polls, so I don't know what's supposed to happen. DId you vote before he made the change?

      After the change.

Based on this, I thought you wanted poll results to be totally hidden from users, even after submitting a vote (since you can change your selection and re-vote after voting, basically it'd allow people to vote, see vote results, then revote, defeating the purpose of hiding results)?

That is a good point. However, then nobody would be able to see the results at all, which also defeats the purpose of the poll. There's no point voting in a poll if the results will never be figured out.

Is there a way to do one of the following things?

      1. Users are not able to change their votes after submitting it
      2. Only staff members are able to see the poll results once they vote

    • I'll inquire and let you know what can be done.

    • I have a potential solution to this I submitted for review. I'll let you know how it goes.

    • I have a solution that works - once a user submits their vote, the results are displayed but they can no longer vote again. I have submitted it for review.
