Workers are the characters players can select when starting any of the Papa Louie restaurant time-management games. In all games but Papa's Pizzeria (where the sole worker is Roy), players can select either a male or female character.
Custom Workers were introduced in Papa's Wingeria, allowing players to create their own character instead of using the default workers.
Some of the chefs were selected by the fans through the Papa's Next Chefs tournaments held once a year from 2011 through 2017, and again in 2020, 2021, and 2023.
Papa Louie can be selected as a playable character in Papa's Burgeria when playing the game through Flipline Studios' website or mochigames.com. Upon an update to Papa's Burgeria, Papa Louie became a playable character on any website that hosts the aforementioned game, initially only being a playable character on Flipline Studios' website or MochiGames. Joy was added to Papa's Pizzeria To Go! to serve as the female playable character and returned for Papa's Pizzeria HD and Papa's Pizzeria Deluxe.

- Carlo Romano is the only member of Romano Family Quartet to be a worker.
- All members of Scarlett and the Shakers are workers, appearing as playable characters in savory-themed restaurants.
- Allan, Akari and Rudy appeared in other games as closers before becoming workers themselves.
- Rudy, Willow and Koilee are the only workers to become one after their debut. Also, all of them become workers after winning a Papa's Next Chefs.
- Liezel is the first app debutant who has become a game worker.
- Akari, Alberto, Clover, Chuck, James, Marty, Prudence, Peggy, Penny, Papa Louie, Rita, Scooter, Taylor, Timm, Utah and Willow are the only workers to be playable heroes in the three Papa Louie action games.
